NEULAND – Beyond the border (NEULAND- Oltre il confine) | series of self-portraits, site specific installation project, Ostia, SBA | 2023

The center of the bathing establishment SBA was folded back on itself at the time of my arrival; a series of artificial sand dunes protected the structure from the high tides during the winter, depriving it at the same time of its identity and the sea View, its main reason to be.
Starting point for my photographic journey was the sense of discomfort I felt the first time on site. I was overwhelmed by force of nature, human resistance and the shifting space in between.

NEULAND is an imaginary dimension, an intimate and unexplored land: a place for reflection and communication. Exploring the borderline between land and sea, I was dragged into a deeper analysis of consciousness and subconsciuosness.
