Nel lavoro di Angelina Chavez “Family portrait” il panorama domestico non equivale al recinto privato in cui nasce e muore la fotografia amatoriale: diviene invece un territorio nuovo, vissuto intimamente ed emozionalmente, ma che va aprendosi allo sguardo esterno, come un laboratorio. La fotografia di Angelina si fa spesso raffinata, ricercata formalmente, quasi non curandosi della realtà vera e propria, quasi stabilendo regole parallele a quelle del vivere. Questo è dunque il tenero laboratorio – fatto di esperienze, di relazioni e di fotografia – il campo sperimentale nel quale vita e arte si testano e si mettono reciprocamente alla prova, nel quale gli equilibri sono mutevoli, le atmosfere variabili, i risultati probabilistici. Questa la bilancia dove, con successo, si pesa continuamente l’equilibrio di stile e affetto.
In Angelina Chavez’ work “Family Portrait” the domestic panorama isn’t an equivalent for the private area in which amateur photography is born and dies at the same moment: it becomes a new territory, intimately and emotionally lived, which opens its doors towards the looks from the outside, like a laboratory. Angelinas photographs are often refined, formally researched, almost not worrying about reality itself, almost establishing parallel rules to those of living. This is therefore the tender laboratory – made by experience, relations and photography – the experimental field on which life and arts are mutually testing themselves, on which the equilibriums are changing, the atmosphere is variable, the results are uncertain. A scale on which the equilibrium of style and affection is continuously balanced in a successful manner.
